Anam Cora (directed by Mary Benefiel)

Live Art in Wymondham is proud to present the work of Anam Cora (directed by Mary Benefiel) as part of the Anteros Performance Art Festival on July 22nd. A powerful example of the body exemplifying its essence. 4 Singers, Drums and a Drone-box – from the silence emerges music that can only exist in this space and in this moment. A journey into the unknown and what awaits. Chaos becomes harmony, from harmony arises rich pauses. It is something to experience to believe.

I have had the pleasure of witnessing the essence of Anam Cora in a beautiful church in Suffolk. The resonance of power and joy through the sound of 4 female voices intertwining themselves with history and presence. Shaped and held a space that had its own identity. Beautiful and fierce; these women represent an age of true feminism. I am very excited to be able to showcase their work and welcome you all to experience this powerful example of what the voice can and will do!
